Just before the starting gun of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, the starting line will play host to a ceremonial check presentation benefitting the Philadelphia Department of Parks & Recreation.
Einstein Healthcare Network and its MossRehab unit will present the Department with a check in recognition of the Department's Health and Wellness Initiative. The Department of Parks & Recreation, which operates the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, has a Health and Wellness initiative within its after-school programs to "keep our kids moving and healthy." The program consists of an exercise and healthy snack initiative in nearly 100 recreation centers throughout the city. The enhanced corporate sponsorship program for the Blue Cross Broad Street Run supports this program. Einstein Healthcare Network is the official healthcare network of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run.
The presentation will take place at 7:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the starting line of the Blue Cross Broad Street Run. The race begins at the intersection of Broad Street and Fisher Avenue.
